Three days at Ranthambore with two safaris in the tiger reserve, a walk up to the thousand-year-old fort and all meals at a jungle resort.
Ranthambore is one of the best places in India to see a tiger in the wild, and one of the easiest to reach: Sawai Madhopur station is on the main Delhi to Mumbai line. The park's lakes, ruined pavilions and the fort on the cliff above make it as striking as its animals.
The package includes two shared canter safaris booked in advance, a jungle resort with a pool and all meals, so there is nothing to arrange once you arrive.
Pick-up from Sawai Madhopur station and check-in at the resort in time for lunch. In the afternoon climb to Ranthambore Fort, founded in the 10th century, for the view over Padam Talao lake and a visit to the Trinetra Ganesh Temple.
Leave at first light for the morning safari, when the cats are most active. Return for breakfast and rest through the heat of the day. The afternoon safari goes out at about 2:30 pm and comes back at sunset.
Breakfast at the resort and transfer to Sawai Madhopur station.
