Five days through the sacred cities of Uttar Pradesh: Ganga aarti and Kashi Vishwanath in Varanasi, a dip at the Sangam and darshan at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Three of the holiest places in Hinduism lie within a day's drive of each other. This trip starts with two nights in Varanasi, crosses to the Triveni Sangam at Prayagraj and ends with two nights in Ayodhya.
A private car stays with you throughout, and the hotels are chosen to be close to the ghats and temples so that early-morning darshan is easy.
Pick-up from Varanasi airport or railway station. In the evening walk down to Dashashwamedh Ghat for the Ganga aarti, performed by priests with tiered lamps as the river fills with boats.
A boat ride at sunrise past Assi, Manikarnika and the other ghats. Then darshan at Kashi Vishwanath, Annapurna and Kaal Bhairav temples. In the afternoon drive 10 km to Sarnath for the Dhamek Stupa and the museum with the Ashokan lion capital.
Drive to Prayagraj (125 km, about three hours). Take a boat to the Triveni Sangam, the meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna and the unseen Saraswati, and visit the Bade Hanuman Temple. Continue to Ayodhya (170 km, about four hours).
Morning darshan at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. Visit Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan and Dashrath Mahal, all within walking distance. In the evening attend the aarti on the Saryu at Ram ki Paidi.
Breakfast and transfer to Ayodhya airport or Ayodhya Dham railway station. A drop at Lucknow airport (135 km) can be arranged.
